Lee Greens is a community-led veg bag scheme. We have a few paid part-time members of staff including a box scheme co-ordinator and delivery drivers. The remainder of the team are dedicated and ethusiastic volunteers. We are a friendly, local bunch that are all driven to provide the best local veg service we can.

Chris provides the overall business vision and direction, so that Lee Greens meets it targets and sticks to its ethos and objectives. He works closely with the team to ensure everything goes smoothly each week and that everyone has what they need to do the best job possible.
Delivery team helpers and drivers
We are looking for a delivery person to work as part of a two person delivery team. The team consist of a driver and helper. The team collects veg bags from our packing room to the pickup points around the borough. Delivery is on Thursdays from 10.30am to 4.30pm for drivers and 11am - 2pm for helpers. Driving is a paid role and helpers are volunteers.
We are also looking for backup driver/delivery persons to cover holiday and sickness on an occasional basis.
You need to be able carry a number of carrier bags of veg. Training is provided.

- Reliable, punctual and able to work in a team
- To have attention to detail
- To have troubleshooting skills
- To have good communication skills (written and oral)
- If driving, to have a current clean UK driving license

Recuritment process:
First Stage: Short telephone interview (15-20 mins)
Second Stage: In person interview and delivery run try-out (half day)
Volunteer veg packers
Throughout the year, we also need to recruit some vegetable packers to help provide cover. If you are free on a Thursday morning between 8.30am - 11am, please consider joining our team. Packing vegetables is a great way to meet other people in the community, to give back and make a difference to a worthy cause. Training is provided.
We are looking for people who are enthusiastic about locally sourced organic vegetables, who and are keen to join us in challenging existing food channels with a passion to make a difference.
Other volunteering opportunities
Volunteering opportunities vary depending on how many hours you’d like to commit. It could involve anything from the following: helping us at foodie events (working on a stall), delivering leaflets in the local area, administrative tasks, looking for partnership opportunities, or simply helping us spread the word about our scheme.
What you’ll get out of it
You will gain experience of working within a new social enterprise, the first of its kind in the local area. You will meet and work with local people, bringing real positive change to the community and the way we source and eat food.
